Mothers Union
The MU in this
Parish was formed in 1923 and attained
its 80th anniversary in 2003 when a
celebratory meal was enjoyed in the
school hall in the presence of our
Diocesan and Deanery Presidents, MU
Chaplain and our Rector Rev. J.
Macaulay.
Our membership at present stands at 44,
with just one indoor member.
From January 2007 until the next
triennial the officers are: Mrs Anne
Rimmer (Branch Leader) and Mrs A.M.
Chantler (Treasurer) and Mrs E Wood
(Secretary).
Our quarterly magazine 'Home and
Family' is available via this web site:
homeandfamily@themothersunion.org
Our five objects are:
- To uphold Christ's teaching on the
nature of marriage and to promote its
wider understanding
- To encourage parents to bring up their
children in the faith and life of the
Church
- To maintain a worldwide fellowship of
Christians united in prayer, worship and
service
- To promote conditions in society
favourable to stable family life and the
protection of children
- To help those whose family life has
met with adversity
